Tribute to the 60s at Alvington

Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr and Elvis Presley took the stage at Alvington House, courtesy of tribute act The Theatre Company. Entertainers gave the home the X-Factor for the afternoon singing songs from the 50s and 60s while residents and carers took to the dance floor. Some ladies even joined the crooner up on stage to sing along with the oldies but goldies from the past including hits from The Rat Pack. As one resident, said: “I haven’t heard these songs for ages but I found I remembered all the words. It took me back to my days going out dancing. It was lovely.” Manager Carol Pierce said: “This was a great activity for everyone. It was lovely to get everyone together singing and dancing and revisiting their youth. It was a really fun and enriching social event. I’m still wondering who had the best moves, the carers or the residents. A big thank you to The Theatre Company.” Residents partied till Elvis left the building!
