Royal Wedding celebration comes to Alvington House

Residents of Alvington House may not have been able to get to Windsor for the Royal Wedding, but they certainly put on the style here in Reigate. Flowery frocks and fascinators were the theme as the home hosted a barbeque to mark the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Even carers joined in by getting out their glad rags and no one was left out with Union Flag hats for all. Residents were able to catch the live coverage on TV before having their own ‘wedding banquet’ in the garden. Manager Carol said: “It was such an occasion we wanted to make sure we all shared in the couple’s joy. It was a great afternoon and everyone got in the party spirit.” One resident said: “I love a Royal Wedding and it was lovely to share it with all my friends here at Alvington House. The guests in Windsor had some pretty fancy hats but I think we looked marvellous too!”
